Scheme objectives

We define specific objectives in business cases for projects, when we identify and appraise options. This dashboard shows progress against the most frequent objectives. 

Summary

Performance against objectives was good:

• 93% of objectives were fully or partially achieved
• 2% were not achieved
• the remaining 5% had inconclusive evidence. 

Sometimes data quality isn't of a sufficient standard for us to reach a verdict. This is labelled as “inconclusive evidence” and does not mean that the project did not meet an objective. 

Our evaluations found some objectives were not met. These provide opportunities for learning and improvement. 

Some older projects didn't meet their safety objective. However, safety performance has been stronger on more recent projects.
