Step 4: Construction and delivery

Upon completion of Step three you will have your approved design in place, at which point you can proceed to the Construction and Delivery stage. The graphic below summarises this process and the key things for you to consider during delivery.

Planning

  1. Site preparation planning
    Access agreements and operational licences
  2. Grid connection detailed design
Define purpose, scope, design inputs, key deliverables, standards and compliance, engineering activities, interfaces and dependencies, governance, risks and mitigations, schedule and milestone costs.
  3. Cybersecurity assessment and payment considerations
  4. Emergency response planning
  5. Submission of formal grid connection application
  6. Connection offer review and understand programme implications

Delivery

  1. Site works and enabing works
Prepare the site so construction and installation can proceed safely, efficiently, and without avoidable rework.
  2. Civil and electrical installation
Deliver the permanent civil infrastructure and electrical assets safely and to specification, enabling installation, testing and energisation.
  3. Grid reinforcement and connection works (where required)
  4. Charger installation and reconfiguration
Install new EV chargers while maintaining site operations, safety and compliance.
  5. Testing and commissioning
  6. Energisation and system intergration
