Back Published 21 October 2024 Press Release News Work to open an extra lane in each carriageway of the M6 between Warrington and Wigan has now been completed - helping to improve journey times and reliability for the tens of thousands of drivers who use the route daily. Final M67 bridge demolition works this weekend
Back Published 04 November 2024 Press Release Final demolition works to replace a motorway bridge take place this weekend as part of a £23 million National Highways project. The last phase involves removing part of the top sections of the supporting structures at either side of St Anne’s Road bridge in Denton, Greater Manchester, which crosses the M67. M6 lane closure for railway bridge replacement preparation
Back Published 13 January 2025 News Press Release National Highways is supporting Network Rail as it works to replace a bridge carrying the west coast main railway line over the M6 south of Penrith in Cumbria. Clifton bridge is located between junction 39 and junction 40 of the M6 and will be demolished and replaced during a two week spell - which also includes two full weekend closures of the motorway - in January of next year (2026).
