    M4 junction 12 to 13 resurfacing - 8 September to 10 October

    Monday 8 September until Friday 10 October (9pm-6am)

    The M4 will be closed at night westbound between junction 12 (Theale) and junction 13 (Chieveley).

    This is the stretch that connects the M4 at Reading to the A34 junction at Chieveley. We're also closing the entry slip road to the westbound carriageway.

    Resurfacing work starts soon

    We need to resurface M4 eastbound carriageway between junction 13 Chieveley Interchange and junction 12 Theale Interchange, near Reading, West Berkshire.

    We'll work 9pm to 6am on various weekdays between June and September. 

    For safety, we'll need overnight full closures of the eastbound carriageway and some overnight lane closures.

    We'll start with overnight lane closures, 9pm to 6am, on Monday 2 June and Tuesday 3 June.

    The M4 eastbound carriageway will then be closed from Junction 13 to Junction 12, Wednesday 4 June to Wednesday 20 August, 9pm to 6am, Monday to Friday only.

    Traffic will be diverted via A339 and A4, to rejoin the M4 at junction 12. 

    Diversion

    • Exit at M4 junction 13 
    • Continue on the A339
    • Join A4 London Road 
    • Continue onto Bath Road
    • Rejoin the M4 at junction 12
