    Overnight and full weekend closures on the A21

    To work safely, we'll need

    • overnight and full weekend closures on the A21 between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout
    • lane closures in both directions with a speed restriction of 50mph for the duration of the works

    Overnight (8pm - 6am) closures

    Monday 8  and Tuesday 9 September (two nights)

    A21 southbound carriageway between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout.

    Wednesday 10  and Thursday 11 September (two nights)

    A21 northbound carriageway between Vauxhall roundabout and Morley’s roundabout.

    Monday 15 to Thursday 18 September (four nights)

    A21 northbound carriageway between Vauxhall roundabout and Morley’s roundabout.

    Thursday 18 September 

    A21 southbound carriageway between Chipstead junction to Vauxhall roundabout. 

    Friday 19 and Saturday 20 September (two nights)

    A21 southbound carriageway between Morley’s roundabout to Vauxhall roundabout. 

    Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October (three nights)

    A21 northbound carriageway between Vauxhall roundabout and Morley’s roundabout.

    Monday 27 to Thursday 30 October (four nights)

    A21 southbound carriageway between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout.

    Monday 3 November

    A21 southbound carriageway between Chipstead junction to Vauxhall roundabout. 

    Tuesday 4 November 

    A21 southbound carriageway between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout.

    Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 November (two nights)

    A21 northbound carriageway between Vauxhall roundabout and Morley’s roundabout.

    Full weekend closures

    8pm Friday 12 to 6am Monday 15 September

    A21 both directions between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout for removal of the footbridge.

    8pm Friday 31 October to 6am Monday 3 November

    A21 both directions between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout to install the new footbridge.

    During full weekend closures, we advise people travelling northbound to:

    • join the A228 at Pembury
    • use the M20/M26 to join the M25

    Diversions

    Diversion for southbound closures between Morley’s roundabout and Vauxhall roundabout

    Take B245 London Road, A227, A227 Bordyke, Harlow Road, A26 Cannon Lane, A26 Vale Road and A26 Woodgate Way to rejoin the A21.

    Diversion for northbound closures between Vauxhall roundabout and Morley’s roundabout

    Take A26 Woodgate Way, A26 Vale Road, A26 Cannon Lane, Harlow Road, A227 Bordyke, A227 and B245 London Road to rejoin the A21.

    Diversion for southbound closures between Chipstead junction to Vauxhall roundabout

    Take A25, A224, A225, B245 London Road, A227, A227 Bordyke, Harlow Road, A26 Cannon Lane, A26 Vale Road and A26 Woodgate Way to rejoin the A21.
