Find out more about who are are and our partners
We are National Highways
We're the government company which plans, designs, builds, operates and maintains England’s motorways and major A-roads, known as the strategic road network (SRN). We help our customers have safer, smoother and more reliable journeys.
The Lower Thames Crossing is our most ambitious scheme in 35 years. So we are building a world class team to deliver it in a way that brings the most benefit to road users and the local communities; as soon as possible and with the greatest value to the tax-payer.
We are building on our own track record of delivering major new infrastructure and want to build the crossing on time and on budget by bringing in experienced and innovative partners from across the industry.
