Major safety improvements will get under way on the M1 in West Yorkshire in March, with a 10-mile stretch of central barrier being upgraded.

Widening the A31 to three lanes at Ringwood, between the A31 junction for Ringwood town centre, the B3347 Mansfield Road and the B3081 Verwood Underpass.

From January 2024 we are set to build an additional 10 emergency areas on the M1 between junction 30 near Barlborough in Derbyshire and junction 31 at Aston in South Yorkshire.

We’ve made improvements on the M4 between junctions 3 and 12 by adding an additional lane for traffic to help increase capacity and reduce congestion. We’ve also put in place new technology to smooth traffic flows and manage incidents along this stretch.
