A63 Myton Bridge refurbishment works
Refurbishment works will include waterproofing, bridge joints replacement, resurfacing of the carriageway, barrier replacement, lighting improvements and other ancillary works.
Myton Swing Bridge was built in 1979 and carries the A63 over the River Hull. The structure is 32m wide and carries two lanes in each direction, a wide hatched area and footpaths. It is less than half a mile long. The structure is owned by National Highways but is routinely maintained by Hull City Council. The bridge has recently experienced some faults that require major maintenance works to be done.
The existing structure needs a refurbishment to maintain and improve this important link for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
