    Lane restrictions and weekend eastbound closure

    Due to emergency work on the Welford Viaduct there is a 24/7 lane closure in place on the M4 eastbound between junction 14 for Hungerford and junction 13 for Chieveley. 

    There will also be a weekend closure eastbound only from:

    • 1am on Saturday 8 November until 6am on Monday 10 November
    • Westbound will be open as usual

Overview

Emergency joint replacement work needed on one of the viaduct joints.

We'll need to close the eastbound M4 to do this due to the size of the bridge.

This work will keep the structure safe.
