A259 Barnhorn to Little Common resurfacing
We’re carrying out resurfacing and repairs along the A259 between Barnhorn and Little Common
This will maintain safety and improve the journey for road users, while reducing the need for unplanned closures.
Repairs and maintenance on the A259 are critical for safety reasons. This work is part of our programme of maintenance that keeps our roads safe.
We’ll carry out our work in phases starting from the evening of Monday 13 November. It will take us up to three months. There will be a break over Christmas.
We plan to start our work to the west of the Little Common Roundabout, moving to the eastern side in the new year. There may be times when there are temporary traffic lights on the Little Common Roundabout while we’re working, but it will remain open for traffic travelling north and south at all times.
Phase one - complete
Coneyburrow Lane to Brooklands Road.
Phase two - complete
Brooklands Road to Kites Nest Walk.
Kites Nest Walk to Little Common Roundabout – with temporary lights operating on the roundabout as necessary.
Phase four - we're currently planning to start this phase on Thursday 4 January 2024
Little Common Roundabout to Broadoak Lane.
Little Common Roundabout to Green Lane – with temporary lights operating on the roundabout as necessary.
Broadoak Lane to West Down Road.
Accessing your property during our work
We’ll be carrying out our work in short sections to maintain access to homes and businesses. An escort will be provided for properties in the area where we’re working, please approach the closure point. There could be a short wait while we make it safe for you to pass.
If you live on the A259 and need regular access overnight, we’d like to know before we start so we can help. This could be due to work, medical or any other reason.
You can get this information to us via this form or by calling our contact centre on 0300 123 5000 (open 24/7), who will pass your details to the team.
