Delivering training and developing skills
When we have built the Lower Thames Crossing and the road is open for use, we want to make sure that we leave behind a local, diverse workforce that is ready to take on opportunities to help build and maintain infrastructure in the region.
Investing in upskilling and training
We are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive working environment, where everyone, regardless of background or experience, can thrive. We know that great projects are built on diverse talent.
That is why we are going beyond inclusive recruitment practices to build a culture where all our people feel welcome, valued, and empowered to succeed.
Apprenticeships, placements and structured training schemes
Our supply chain partners are facilitating successful opportunities through the delivery of early career roles, including apprenticeships, graduate schemes, work experience placements and internships (including supported internships).
Skills Hubs
We are commissioning new Skills Hubs in Essex and Kent which will open their doors from 2025 onwards to offer free training and guaranteed job interviews with local suppliers.
These Skills Hubs will connect local people to local jobs.
