Balfour Beatty, on behalf of National Highways, will soon be undertaking ground investigations and starting work to create new ecological habitat within three areas north of the river.

These works are taking place from mid-October 2025 and continuing until end of March 2026.

We need to carry out these works to prepare the new road, and ensure the project progresses efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to the public.

Creating new habitats such as ponds and installing bat boxes is essential to provide homes for wildlife like bats, badgers, and great crested newts. These efforts will help mitigate the impact of future construction works on the local ecosystem.

There will be some machinery and small site cabins present to complete the work.

Public Right of Ways will be affected in the short term to allow the work to progress without risk to the public and will be returned to normal use as soon as possible.
