Work this year: Linford

We’re setting up a new site compound east of Low Street Lane, off Muckingford Road, that will include offices, facilities for workers, and storage for materials, machinery and vehicles

This compound will initially support local habitat creation, along with archaeological digging and ground surveys.
We’ll also be creating a new water connection from Linford which will support tunnelling work.

What to expect

  • Around 60 deliveries per day
  • Surveys and habitat creation work locally
  • Construction traffic via Buckingham Hill Road and Muckingford Road or Fort Road to Blue Anchor Lane to access the site compound
  • Use of the existing farm access via Blue Anchor Lane until new vehicle access points are created on Muckingford Road (this spring)
  • Overnight closures with diversions while we build the new vehicle  access points on Muckingford Road
  • Majority of construction vehicles later accessing the site via the A13 once internal access roads are complete from early 2027
  • Lane closures for work close to the road, including for some vegetation clearance
