M27 - Police led incident
The #M27 is closed westbound between J8 (Bursledon) and J5 (Southampton) and eastbound between J5 (Southampton) and J7 (Hedge End) due to a Police led incident.
Emergency services including Hampshire Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.
Diversion Routes
Eastbound Diversion
Road users are advised to follow the hollow circle diversion symbol on road signs

From the M27 eastbound, leave at junction 5.

At the roundabout, use the 2nd exit and join the A335 Wide Lane.

At the next roundabout, use the 2nd exit and join Wide Lane. Continue to the following roundabout.

Use the 3rd exit and continue on Wide Lane, passing beneath the M27.

At the A27 roundabout beyond, use the 1st exit and join the A27.

Follow for approximately 2 miles through West End At the A334 roundabout, use the 1st exit and join the A334 Charles Watts Way.

Follow to the M27 junction 7 interchange. At the roundabout, use the 4th exit to rejoin the M27 eastbound.
Westbound Diversion
Road users are advised to follow the hollow square diversion symbol on road signs

From the M27 westbound, leave at junction 8. At the roundabout, use the 1st exit and join the A3024.

Follow to the Windhover roundabout. Use the 4th exit and join the A27.

Follow the A27 West End Road for approximately 1 mile, to the next roundabout.

Continue straight on the A27 for approximately 2 miles, through West End to a roundabout at Wide Lane.

Use the 2nd exit and join Wide Lane. Continue on Wide Lane passing beneath the M27 to a roundabout and use the 1st exit continuing on Wide Lane.

Continue to the A335 Wide Lane roundabout. Use the 1st exit and join the A335.

Continue to the M27 junction 5 interchange. At the junction 5 roundabout, use the 3rd exit to rejoin the M27 westbound.
