The M25 in Essex is closed clockwise between J27 (for the M11) and J28 (for the A12, near Brentwood) due to an earlier collision involving 3 HGVs.

National Highways Traffic Officers are on scene assisting with traffic management.

As a result of the collision there was a large diesel spillage across 3 lanes of the carriageway.

The vehicles have been recovered and after an inspection of the road it was deemed necessary to resurface all 3 lanes.

Road crews are at scene and work is underway

Diversion Route:

  • Exit the M25 at J27 and join the M11 northbound
  • Exit the M11 northbound at J7 and join the A414 eastbound towards Chelmsford
  • At Widford Roundabout, turn right onto the A414 Three Mile Hill southbound and continue towards the A12 J15
  • Join the A12 southbound and continue towards Brentwood, to then re-join the M25 at J28

If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
