The A5 in Staffordshire is closed northbound between the A453 (Bassetts Pole) and the M6 Toll/A38 (Weeford) due to infrastructure defects.
The closure is likely to remain in place for several hours due to emergency resurfacing works.
Diversion Routes
Traffic heading northbound are advised to follow the Solid Diamond diversion symbol on road signs
- Exit the A5 westbound at Mile Oak and join the A453 southbound.
- Proceed along the A453 southbound until the junction with the A38. take the 4th exit onto A38 northbound.
- Proceed along the A38 northbound and arrive at Weeford Junction.
- Rejoin A5 westbound at Weeford Island.
