The A14 in Suffolk is closed westbound between J55 near (Copdock) and J52 near (Claydon) due to a serious collision.
The A14 in Suffolk is closed westbound between J55 near (Copdock) and J52 near (Claydon) due to a serious collision involving 2 Heavy Goods Vehicles which has resulted in a significant diesel spillage across lanes 1 and 2 .
Suffolk Police are currently carrying out a collision investigation. Once the collision investigation has been completed vehicle recovery and treatment of the diesel spillage will be required.
The carriageway closure is expected to remain in place for several further hours.
Diversion Routes:
**Please note that this diversion is for vehicles under 7.5 tonnes**
**Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are advised to follow local routes at this stage**
Road users travelling westbound are advised to follow the below diversion
- From J55 Copdock Mill, leave the eastbound carriageway and join the A1214.
- Follow the A1214 to the junction with the A1071 and turn left.
- Continue on the A1071 to the roundabout with the B1113 and take the third exit onto the B1113.
- Proceed on the B1113 through Sproughton and Bramford to J52 Claydon, then rejoin the A14.
