Roadside technology maintenance
From time to time, we need to maintain and upgrade roadside technology on our network. Here are details of where we are working and what this means for your journey. This work is often completed remotely so you may not see our workforce.
We implement reduced speed limits on sections of our motorway network while we undertake essential maintenance and upgrades to our traffic management systems.
When we do so, there will be additional Traffic Officer patrols to help customers and respond to incidents.
Traffic management systems can be unavailable for short periods intermittently while we work. We'll give details on this page.

Maintenance and upgrades
From 10pm Saturday 25 July 2026 until 3.30am Sunday 26 July 2026
We'll implement reduced speed limits on sections of our network while we undertake essential overnight maintenance and upgrades to our traffic management systems. There will also be additional Traffic Officer patrols to help customers and respond to incidents.
Traffic management systems will not be available during this period, while the work is delivered.
