Roadside technology maintenance

From time to time, we need to maintain and upgrade roadside technology on our network. Here are details of where we are working and what this means for your journey. This work is often completed remotely so you may not see our workforce.

We may be implementing reduced speed limits (usually 50mph) on the following sections of our smart motorway network while we undertake essential maintenance and upgrades to our traffic management systems. There will also be additional Traffic Officer patrols to help customers and respond to incidents.

Traffic management systems will not be available for short periods intermittently, during the times below.

If you are travelling on one of our smart motorways and need to stop, follow our advice on what to do during a breakdown or incident.
