What's on - workshops, events and competitions

Upcoming events

As the nation’s leading highways business, we regularly host events to  connect with organisations operating in the infrastructure and  professional services supply chain.

We run face-to-face and online events where we inform, consult and  collaborate with suppliers - discussing sector challenges to find solutions and sharing information about our pipeline of work.

We also exhibit and participate in industry-led conferences, exhibitions  and shows where we have the opportunity to talk to suppliers, stakeholders and road users about our work.

Growth and Housing Accelerator Fund webinars – 13 May 2026, 9 June 2026

The Growth and Housing Accelerator (GHA) Fund is investing £165 million to remove the transport infrastructure barriers holding back housing and employment sites across England.

Many housing and employment sites already have planning permission but cannot be built because transport improvements are needed first. The GHA Fund aims to address any viability funding gaps - targeting schemes that are ready to go, where infrastructure is the only thing standing in the way.

The match funding aims for a 3:1 basis: two parts public funding and one part private, to one part GHA Fund. National Highways works in partnership with local authorities and developers to maximise impact and accelerate delivery.

Local authorities and Mayoral Strategic Authorities can apply for GHA Fund investment.

Our free online webinars will walk you through the eligibility criteria and application process.

National Highways Truckstop Operator webinars - 21 May, 1 June, 5 June 2026

In line with the UK Government’s ambition to achieve a fully zero emission fleet of cars, vans and HGVs by 2040, the Government is working with industry to ensure charging for longer journeys easy, fast and reliable. This work forms part of the wider national decarbonisation effort, including the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate, which commits to infrastructure acceleration and preparing operators for transitioning ahead of mainstream availability of zero-emission HGVs by 2035.

To support this, National Highways is planning a short series of practical online sessions to support truckstop operators in preparing for electric HGV (eHGV) charging. The sessions are practical, jargon-free and focused on real-world delivery — helping you understand what’s realistically involved at your site and what to do next.

Who should attend?

Truckstop owners, operators and managers — whether you’re just starting to think about eHGV charging or already exploring options. No technical expertise are required.

What the sessions will cover

The sessions will focus on the practical considerations — including grid connections, planning and land issues, and an introduction to the truckstop operator guidance for eHGV chargepoint installation to support site readiness. The sessions will cover:

  • National context, the role of National Highways, grid connections and working with DNOs
  • Planning, land and demand considerations
  • Operations and maintenance

Please note: these sessions will not cover funding or financial support. The focus is on practical planning, delivery and collaboration.

Format and timing

Three online sessions (45 minutes per session, including Q&As)

Running from week commencing 18 May, over a three-week period.
