This Victorian disused tunnel is in the West End area of Glasgow, Kelvinside. We’re working with our partners to use innovative survey techniques to better understand the structure and confirm the location of blind shafts along the route of the tunnel.

The Paisley Road West railway bridge, constructed in 1909, carries Paisley Road over the former General Terminus railway branch. The line closed in the 1970s, with the tracks removed and the track beds on both sides of the bridge redeveloped.

South of Barrhead the unusual concrete viaduct is one of the largest monuments remaining from the former railway branch. National Highways has secured its safe future use with over 240 separate repairs.
