Press Release

Members of the public are being invited to meet the team behind National Highways’ transformative A57 Link Roads project.

Three public information events will be held in the coming weeks to keep everyone informed about the latest planned construction works. These events will also be another opportunity for the public to ask questions about the scheme and get a full overview of the project.

National Highways senior project manager, Tom Peckitt, said:

“We are delighted to be delivering this much needed scheme. Now that our works are well under way, we would like to invite everyone to come along to one of our public information events to meet our team and find out about the scheme and the next phase of planned works.”

Team members from National Highways and its partner Balfour Beatty will be on hand at each of the events to provide updates about the project and answer any questions.

The public information events will be held on the following dates and locations.

  • Tuesday 15 July, 2pm-7pm Hattersley Hub, Stockport Road, Mottram, Hyde, SK14 6AF
  • Tuesday 22 July, 2pm-7pm The Community Room, St Mary’s Church, Market Street, Hollingworth, SK14 8NE
  • Saturday 2 August, 10am-2pm Stalybridge Celtic Football Club, Bower Fold, Mottram Road, Stalybridge, SK15 2RT

The team will also have an information stand and be available to speak to at this year’s Mottram Show which takes place at the Mottram Showground on Sunday, August 17.

The A57 Link Roads project includes the creation of two new link roads:

  • Mottram Moor Link Road – a new dual carriageway from the M67 junction 4 roundabout to a new junction on the A57 at Mottram Moor
  • A57 Link Road – a new single carriageway link from the A57 at Mottram Moor to a new junction on the A57 in Woolley Bridge.

The scheme will transform travel in the North by reducing congestion, improving journeys between Manchester and Sheffield, boosting travel connections and supporting economic growth. It will also reduce noise and pollution levels for the communities of Mottram-in-Longdendale. It is expected to take approximately three years to complete.

If you are unable to attend any of the information events you can keep up to date with the latest news about the scheme on our website
