A27 Havant corridor
The A27 near Havant is one of the busiest stretches of road on the south coast. Over the coming months, we're doing a series of improvements and essential maintenance works in the area.
A27 at the Warblington interchange safety barrier replacement
Eastbound entry slip
Closed, 8pm to 6am:
- Sunday 22 March to Friday 27 March (finishing Saturday 28 March at 6am) – six nights
- Monday 30 March to Wednesday 1 April (finishing Thursday 2 April at 6am) – three nights
Overnight diversion for eastbound traffic:
- Join the A27 westbound and travel to the next junction at Langstone.
- Leave the A27 at Langstone
- then rejoin the A27 eastbound.
During the day, Monday 23 March to Wednesday 1 April, including weekends, lane 1 of the entry slip will be closed. Lane 2 will remain open.
Westbound carriageway
Closed between the Warblington exit slip and entry slip on the following nights, 8pm to 6am:
- Wednesday 8 April to Saturday 11 April (finishing Sunday 12 April at 6am) – four nights
- Monday 13 April to Friday 17 April (finishing Saturday 18 April at 6am) – five nights
- Monday 20 April to Friday 24 April (finishing Saturday 25 April at 6am) – five nights
Overnight diversion for westbound traffic:
- Leave the A27 at the Warblington exit slip and rejoin the A27 westbound via the entry slip at the same junction.
Eastbound carriageway
Closed between the Warblington exit slip and entry slip on the following nights, 8pm to 6am:
- Thursday 7 May to Friday 8 May (finishing Saturday 9 May at 6am) - two nights
- Monday 11 May to Friday 15 May (finishing Saturday 16 May 6am) - five nights
- Monday 18 May to Thursday 21 May (finishing Friday 22 May 6am) - four nights
- Tuesday 26 May to Thursday 28 May (finishing 29 May 6am) - three nights
Overnight diversion for eastbound traffic:
- Leave the A27 at the Warblington exit slip and rejoin the A27 eastbound via the entry slip at the same junction.
A27 at Mill Lane safety barrier replacement
Westbound carriageway
The A27 westbound will be fully closed between the Fishbourne roundabout and Warblington while we set up a lane 1 closure Sunday 26 April (8pm) to Monday 27 April (6am).
Diversion:
- Take the A259 from Fishbourne roundabout through Fishbourne, Nutbourne, Southbourne and Emsworth
- then rejoin the A27 westbound at Warblington interchange.
Lane 1 will be closed continuously, 24 hours a day, Monday 27 April (6am) to Friday 1 May (8pm). Lane 2 will remain open with a 50mph speed limit.
The A27 westbound will be fully closed between the Fishbourne roundabout and Warblington while we remove the lane 1 closure, Friday 1 May (8pm) to Saturday 2 May (6am).
The same diversion as above will be in place during this overnight closure.
Eastbound carriageway
The A27 eastbound will be fully closed between Langstone and the Fishbourne roundabout while we set up a lane 1 closure, Monday 8 June (8pm) to Tuesday 9 June (6am).
Diversion
All eastbound traffic will leave the A27 at the Langstone junction:
- follow Park Road B2149 northbound to Havant.
- keep following B2149 Petersfield Road to the junction with Bartons Road.
- follow Bartons Road eastbound to the junction with Horndean Road B2148.
- follow Horndean Road southbound to the junction with Southleigh Road.
- follow Southleigh Road southbound to the junction with Emsworth Road.
- follow Emsworth Road eastbound to the A259 Havant Road.
- follow the A259 eastbound until the Fishbourne Roundabout junction with the A27. Rejoin the A27.
Lane 1 will be closed continuously, 24 hours a day, Tuesday 9 June (6am) to Thursday 18 June (8pm), including the weekend of 13 and 14 June.
Lane 2 will remain open with a 50mph speed limit.
The A27 eastbound will be fully closed between Langstone and the Fishbourne roundabout while we remove the lane 1 closure, Thursday 18 June (8pm) to Friday 19 June (6am).
The same diversion as above will be in place during this overnight closure.
A27 Harts Farm junction resurfacing – 27 April to 13 May 2026
Closures and diversions
27 April to 13 May - Bedhampton dumbbell junction (between Bedhampton roundabout/A3(M) J5 and Harts Farm Way) and three slip roads
Closed overnight (9pm-6am), Monday to Friday.
The main A27 and A3(M) remain open.
Diversion (joining A27 east or westbound):
- follow Bedhampton Hill
- Bedhampton Road
- New Road and Park Road to Langstone roundabout
Diversion (exiting A27 westbound at the junction):
- continue to Eastern Road junction
- follow signs for A3(M) J5 and join the main diversion at Bedhampton Hill
27 April to 13 May - Harts Farm Way (between the junction and Broadmarsh Coastal Park Car Park)
Closed overnight (9pm-6am), Monday to Friday.
Diversion:
Follow Brockhampton Road, Solent Road and Park Road

Farlington Marshes sea wall repairs – May to September 2026
Closure
The footpath and car park at Farlington Marshes will be closed from May until September 2026.
We own this stretch of land and are responsible for maintaining the sea wall that protects it.
Diversion for walkers:
- from Farlington Marshes car park, follow diversion signs north along the A2030 Eastern Road
- at the Havant Road T-junction, turn east along Havant Road towards the Rusty Cutter Roundabout (A3(M) flyover)
- head south towards the Harts Farm bridge over the A27
- continue along Harts Farm Way on shared use cycle path 22 to the bridge over the water outfall and rejoin the coastal path
The same route can be followed in the opposite direction.
