  A47 Swaffham resurfacing to begin in July

  We’ll work weeknights from Monday 28 July (8pm to 6am) through till October, weather permitting. 

  Closures and diversions 

  To work safely, we’ll close the A47 between the A1122 Roundabout and Norwich Road Roundabout in separate phases.

  Monday 21 July to Friday 29 August 2025 

  Westbound from Swaffham Interchange to A1122 Roundabout closed.

  Drivers travelling westbound on the A47 will need to:

  • exit the A47 at Swaffham Interchange onto the A1065
  • follow the A1065 southbound to Mundford
  • join the A134 and follow to the A10
  • re-join the A47 at Hardwick Roundabout 

  Swaffham Interchange to A1122 Roundabout diversion map

  Monday 1 September to Wednesday 10 September

  Eastbound exit slip road from Lynn Road and lane 1 of the A47 closed.

  Drivers travelling to exit the A47 at Lynn Road will need to:

  • continue on the A47 and exit at Swaffham Interchange
  • travel southbound on the A1065
  • exit at Lynn Street to re-join Lynn Road

  Monday 1 September to Wednesday 10 September

  Westbound entry slip road from Lynn Road and lane 1 of the A47 closed.

  Drivers travelling to join the A47 to travel westbound from Lynn Road:

  • will be diverted East on Lynn Road to Lynn Street
  • join the A1065 northbound
  • join the A47 at Swaffham Interchange

  Thursday 11 September to Monday 22 September 

  Westbound from Norwich Road Roundabout to Swaffham Interchange closed.

  Drivers travelling westbound the A47 will need to: 

  • exit the A47 at Norwich Road Roundabout
  • continue on Norwich Road towards the A1065
  • cross the A1065 to Lynn Street and follow to Lynn Road
  • re-join the A47 from Lynn Road 

  Monday 23 September to Tuesday 30 September 

  Eastbound from Swaffham Interchange to Norwich Road Roundabout closed.

  Drivers travelling eastbound on the A47 will need to:

  • exit the A47 at Lynn Road
  • continue onto Lynn Street
  • cross the A1065 onto Norwich Road
  • re-join the A47 at Norwich Road Roundabout 

  A47 Swaffham Interchange to Norwich Rd Roundabout diversion map

  Wednesday 1 October to Friday 31 October 

  Eastbound between A1122 Roundabout and Swaffham Interchange closed.

  Drivers travelling eastbound on the A47 will need to: 

  • exit the A47 at Hardwick Roundabout onto the A10
  • join the A134 at the Roundabout
  • continue on the A134 to Mundford
  • join the A1065 northbound
  • re-join the A47 at Swaffham Interchange
