We want to provide local businesses, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and social enterprises (SEs) with the tools to win new work and maximise economic benefits during and after construction.
We are looking to engage with companies of all sizes who might be interested in working on the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet improvements scheme.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and social enterprises (SEs) play a key role in developing the national economy and local communities. We want to ensure SMEs, SEs and local businesses play a key part in the project’s supply chain and this is in line with the Government’s aspiration of ensuring 33% of spend is with SMEs.
What are the opportunities?

Bidding for work
We want to support businesses so that they're in the best possible position to bid for work. In order to bid for our packages, you must meet our minimum requirements.
If you are an SME, SE or local business that is interested in tendering, but is not able to quite hit minimum requirements, please ensure you sign up to the A428 Supply Chain Directory below, as we will have opportunities for business mentoring and upskilling.
We are currently preparing a list of packages in accordance with the highways method of measurement, they will be shared on this page. Please keep checking back.
