The exhibition attracts an average of 10,000 supply chain and industry experts over two days.
The show is the centrepiece of our annual exhibition calendar and our stand is an important part of the exhibition.
Our National Highways Theatre also hosted a variety of specialist presentations and panels. Topics ranged from the environment and innovation to discussions about suicide prevention and challenges faced by disabled road users.
Our Chief Executive Nick Harris was the keynote speaker on Day 1. Nick shared his insights on how we’re connecting the country, why it’s key to our mission and the importance of collaboration.
Nick said:
“Achieving safety, achieving zero harm is only going to be something we do by successfully collaborating together.”
Lilian Greenwood, Minister for the Future of Roads, spoke to us at the event about the value of our highways network:
“We know that our highways network is our most valuable public infrastructure asset.
“It’s what connects people together, to work, to opportunities, to education, to the family and friends and to all the things they want to do.
“And so investing in, and making sure it’s safe, making sure it’s transitioning to a greener future, all of these things are really important.”
Nick added:
“Connecting the country is like having the right plumbing, it’s all about having a vibrant successful economy, about us having healthy, engaged, enriched lives and providing the basic needs that society is looking for.”
As always the event was a fantastic opportunity to share new ideas and make vital new connections across the Highways industry.
