A585 Norcross roundabout
The A585 Norcross roundabout scheme supports a much wider strategy to resolve congestion in the area and improve the experience for our customers using the network. The scheme will also benefit pedestrians/ cyclists who will be able to use new controlled crossing facilities to navigate their way around the junction.
Project information
This scheme will entail increasing the size of the roundabout, widen the approaches to the junction and see the installation of new traffic lights. Safety will be further improved with the introduction of signal controlled pedestrian crossing points.
These improvements at Norcross roundabout, in conjunction with the proposed A585 Skippool and Windy Harbour project, will reduce congestion as well as supporting future developments and predicted traffic growth. This improvement scheme is part of the Government’s £220 million Congestion Relief Fund aimed at cutting congestion and journey times for motorists and improving safety.
We aim to:
- support the delivery of the economic and housing strategies of the three local councils of Wyre, Fylde and Blackpool
- alleviate congestion and improve customer journey time
- improve safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists
