We’re refreshing road markings and road studs on the A14 for safer journeys from 06 July 2024 to 10 September 2026
Closures and diversions
Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 July - A14 westbound junction 62 to 61
Fully closed overnight (10pm to 6am)
Diversion:
- from junction 62 travel on A154 (Walton Avenue)
- then to the Dock Gate 2 Roundabout
- turning right onto Trinity Avenue before rejoining the A14
A14 junction 61 to 62 closure diversion route
Thursday 9, Friday 10 July and Monday 13 July - A14 eastbound junction 61 to 62
Fully closed each night (10pm to 6am) not closed over the weekend
Diversion:
Follow the same diversion as above in reverse.
A14 junction 61 to 62 closure diversion route
Tuesday 13 to Friday 10 July and Monday 13 July - A14 westbound junction 58 (Seven Hills) to 57 (Nacton)
Fully closed overnight (10pm to 6am)
Diversion:
If you wish to travel eastbound:
- exit the A14 at junction 57 onto Nacton Road
- then at the roundabout turn onto Ransomes Way
- before turning left at the next roundabout onto Felixstowe Road
- continue on Felixstowe Road to Seven Hill Interchange
- then exit onto the A12 eastbound to continue your journey

Saturday 18, Sunday 19, Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 July – A14 eastbound junction 57 (Nacton) to 58 (Seven Hills)
Fully closed overnight (10pm to 6am)

A14 junction 58 (Seven Hills) to 57 (Nacton) diversion route
Latitude Festival, 23 July to 26 July
We won’t be working during the Latitude Festival, which runs from Thursday 23 July to Sunday 26 July.
To minimise disruption on your journey to and from the festival. Please plan ahead of your journey.
Monday 27 July to Wednesday 5 August – A14 westbound junction 58a (Trimley) to 58 (Seven Hills)
Fully closed overnight (10pm to 6am)
Diversion
If you wish to travel westbound on the A14:
- exit the A14 at junction 59 onto Howlett Way
- at the roundabout turn onto the High Street
- continue on the High Street and turn onto Felixstowe Road
- before entering the A14 at the next right (before Strattonhall Drift)
A14 westbound junction 58a (Trinty St Martin) to 58 diversion route
Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August
We won’t be working over the bank holiday weekend to minimise disruption.
