A38 - Road traffic collision

The A38 in Derbyshire is closed in both directions between the Summercotes junction (Alfreton, Somercotes, Selston B600) and the Pinxton Interchange (South Normanton B6019; The NORTH, Sheffield M1; Mansfield A38; The SOUTH, Nottingham M1).

This is due to a collision.

Derbyshire police and ambulance services are in attendance.

National Highways have resources in attendance to assist with traffic management.

Diversion Routes

Southbound:

• At the M1 28, exit onto the B6019 (Mansfield Road, The common and Alfreton Road) and continue straight on at the Market Street mini roundabout
• Turn left at the mini roundabout onto Birchwood Lane
• Continue along Birchwood lane straight over the roundabout, passing under the A38
• Turn right onto Clover Nook Road, then after 300m, turn right to re-join the A38

Northbound:

• Exit the A38 at the slip road for the B600 Alfreton
• Turn left onto the B600 Nottingham Road
• Turn left at the signalised junction onto Cotes Park Lane
• Turn left onto Clover Nook Road
• Turn left at the T-junction onto Birchwood Lane
• Turn left at the roundabout to rejoin the northbound A38
