National Highways

The government agency that aims to deliver a better service for road users and to support a growing economy. National Highways work in the interests of taxpayers, road users and the millions of people who rely on the network every day.

National Highways is building upon its successful record of delivering major projects by bringing together experience and expertise from across the industry into an Integrated Client Team comprised of National Highways, and Technical, Commercial and Integration partners.

Technical Partner

The Technical Partner is a joint venture between COWI and Arcadis and Jacobs.

Commercial Partner

Turner & Townsend Limited has been awarded the Commercial Partner contract to provide day-to-day commercial and contract management, independent cost assurance and cost audit function across the Lower Thames Crossing programme.

Integration Partner

The Integration Partner will create a collaborative relationship between National Highways and all of its partners.
Jacobs has been awarded the Integration Partner contract for the project.

Delivery Partner - Roads North of the Thames

Our Delivery Partner for the Roads North of the Thames contract is Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Ltd.

Delivery Partner - Tunnels and systems

At 16 metres wide, our tunnels will be some of the largest bored tunnels in the world. They will also be the longest road tunnels in the UK.

The following construction and engineering companies have been invited to enter into competitive dialogue with Highways England, which is the next stage in the contract tender process:

  • BFV JV; comprising BAM Nuttall Ltd, Ferrovial Construction (UK) Ltd and VINCI Construction Grands Projets, supported by Atkins Ltd, Tecnica y Proyectos SA (TYPSA) and Stantec UK Limited
  • Bouygues Murphy Joint Venture (BMJV); comprising Bouygues Travaux Publics S.A.S. and J Murphy & Sons Ltd, supported by Mott McDonald Ltd and Ove Arup and Partners Ltd
  • Dragados-Hochtief Joint Venture (DH JV); comprising Dragados S.A. and HOCHTIEF Infrastructure Gmbh

Delivery Partner - Kent Roads

Skanksa Construction UK Limited has been named as the preferred bidder for the Kent Roads contract.
