After a fair and open competition, Kim Shillinglaw is to join National Highways on 10 February 2025 as a Non-Executive Director of the Board.
After a fair and open competition, Kim Shillinglaw is to join National Highways on 10 February 2025 as a Non-Executive Director of the Board.
Kim has a wide and varying portfolio of non-executive roles across a number of sectors.
A former Controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, Kim has 30 years’ experience across the media industry. At the BBC, she modernised tv channels and grew audiences. As Director of Factual at the UK’s largest production entity EndemolShine, she increased revenues and restructured a portfolio of individual companies. Previously, she created award-winning programmes, drove digital audiences and led the adoption of new technologies as Head of Commissioning for BBC Science and Natural History amongst other roles. She chaired the BBC’s Factual Genre board and Commercial Income taskforce.
Kim is a Non-Executive Director and board member of organisations including Natural England, Ofcom, the Natural Environment Research Council, Raspberry Pi Foundation, and previously, of Engineering UK and NESTA.
Welcoming Kim to the Board, National Highways Chair Gareth Rhys Williams said: “Kim has extensive experience of managing and inspiring customer-related organisations and is a highly experienced board level professional. I am delighted to welcome her to National Highways.”
