Remember to leave plenty of space when overtaking HGVs. People can underestimate the limitations HGV drivers face in seeing passing vehicles.

According to a recent survey, more than a third of motorists are unaware of HGV blind spots.

Although most people said they take extra care overtaking HGVs, 36 per cent did not know how many blind spots a HGV has.
