The A31 is closed westbound between the M27 at J2 and the A338 at Ringwood for recovery work from an earlier collision involving a HGV.

The M27 and A31 westbound in Hampshire is closed between the M27 J2 Ower Interchange (Salisbury, Bath A36) and the A338 Ashley Heath Interchange near Ringwood.

This is for recovery work from an earlier collision involving a HGV. A complex recovery operation was required which necessitated the removal of a tree. The recovery of the HGV was completed by 1030 but the tree needs to be removed and there is also road surface damage which needs to be addressed before the road is safe to be re-opened.

Our current estimate is the road will remain closed until mid-afternoon but National Highways contractors remain on scene working to get the road clear and re-opened as soon as is possible.
