A303 - Vehicle fire
The A303 is closed westbound between the A358 at Horton Cross and the A30 at Upottery due to a lorry fire.
The lorry was fully laden with vegetation, and the fire spread to the adjacent grass verge.
Fire and Rescue attended and have extinguished the blaze. Crews remain on scene carrying out recovery and clear-up work.
The incident occurred shortly before 9pm yesterday evening.
The eastbound carriageway was also closed but reopened at 0700hrs.
Diversion Routes:
Road users travelling westbound are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on road signs:
- At Southfields Roundabout, take the third exit for the A358 (signposted, Donyatt/Broadway/Horton and Chard)
- Travel on the A358 towards Chard
- At the signalised junction with Fore Street and East Street, turn right on to the A30
- Travel on the A30 westbound until you re-join the A303 near Upottery
