A1 Northumberland improvements
We’re carrying out a series of improvements along the A1 in Northumberland during 2023/24 and are currently planning this work.
This includes:

A1 Wandylaw to Warrenford resurfacing. Resurfacing both the north and southbound carriageways. To keep the A1 open the work will be carried out over 9 phases of night time traffic lights from 26th June through to winter 2023
- A1 Burgham to West Moor is due to be re-surfaced in winter 2023. Both north and southbound, using night time traffic lights and a convoy.

A1 West Mains service station access improvements and repairs. We’ll also undertake drainage repairs - the access to the service station will be closed for short periods. Spring 2024

A1 Northumberland sign improvements and replacement - night time traffic lights - Complete August 2023
- A1 Warreners and Fairmoor and Newton on the Moor and Lane head, road surface maintenance - Spring/Summer 2024
